Kahilu Theatre is proud to present our next Song Circle, a Nashville-style in-the-round show highlighting local songwriters. This show will feature Don May, Llosh Winne, and Kristin Lagasse. This exclusive concert will take place live on Friday, June 18 at 7pm HST.
Don May is a Texas born, award-winning Americana singer/songwriter living in the up-country town of Kamuela, on Hawai'i Island. A veteran of the world-famous Austin, Texas live music scene, his songs "reflect the grit and emotional honesty of the Texas troubadour tradition and the detailed craftsmanship of Nashville's finest". As a staff writer for Sony/ATV, JENCO music publishing and most recently CURB/WORD music publishing in Nashville, he has honed his songwriting by working alongside many of the most successful songwriters and record producers in the world. He is currently putting the final touches on his first independent record "The Devils Footprints" slated for release in the summer of 2021.
Llosh Winne grew up in Homer, Alaska, where he was first inspired musically by the honesty and heart of hip hop artists like TuPac Shakur and Eminem. He started singing and writing lyrics when he was 12 years old. Llosh has continued singing and writing music for 15 years, as well as, producing his own music for three years. Llosh has many different styles, including roots rock, a touch of soul, and influences of hip hop.
Kristin Lagasse is a Quebec born, Maine raised, singer-songwriter currently based out of Kailua Kona, Hawaii. Likened to Norah Jones, Natalie Merchant and Ani Difranco, Kristin accompanies her sweet and soulful voice with acoustic guitar, ukulele and piano. She has a deep love of the road and continues to share her songs along the way at café’s, bars, farmers markets, restaurants and festivals. Kristin has recorded three albums: “For Those Who Still Believe In Unicorns,” “Gypsy Girl,” and “Rugged Heart.” Kristin is currently working on her next album with the hopes of a winter 2021 release.
